DOUGIE TO LEAD THE LINE
Douglas Gordon has accepted the role of 1st XV Assistant Coach / Backs Coach. Dougie is an RFU and ARU level 2 adult coach with 13 CPD's since sept 2013. He is proud to have Coached regiment and army development teams, winning the Army 10's and minor units trophies. At club level, he has worked as Assistant Coach at Lincoln RFC in Midlands 3 for 2 years, taking them to two 3rd place finishes.
More recently Dougie has been part of the wider coaching team here at Quins. Working alongside the other coaches, Dougie has been a vital cog in our recent success. A top bloke on and off the training field, I’m thrilled to have him as my right hand man.
WIGGINS JOINS NUTT AS PLAYER COACH
I am delighted to announce that Jack Wiggins will be joining the Quins Coaching Family for the 2018/19 season. Jack will assume the role of player coach, alongside Martin Nutt who did a great job this year.
Jack joined Quins as a player last season, playing all but a few games in a variety of positions including 9, 10, 12 and 15. Keeping Jack as a player is great news, but to have his coaching pedigree at our disposal will be invaluable as we hope to launch an attack on South West 1 East next season.
Jack has a wealth of playing and coaching experience, touching down in Oxfordshire 3 years ago after taking an academy coaching role with premiership giants, Wasps. Jack's playing experience includes, Worcester Warriors Academy, Southend & Premier Club Rugby in New Zealand. He currently coaches Wasps Academy alongside managing the clubs AASE rugby program based at the Henley College. Previous coaching experience includes HB Magpies Saracens (NZ), Hastings Boys High School 1st XV (NZ) & Samurai invitational Sevens. Jack is looking forward to his second season as a player at Quins and equally as excited to step into the coaching team. Jack also coached the the Wasps 7s side that won the 2017 Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Cup Final.
2’s2’s2’s COACHING NEWS
Fast becoming a club legend, Keni Fisilau has agreed to take on the role of 2nd team Head Coach for next season. Alan Hancock led the 2’s wonderfully well last year and we are delighted that Keni will be joining him as the 2’s prepare to push for back to back promotions.
Fisilau has a huge wealth of playing and coaching experience, spending many years at Plymouth Albion in the Championship and more recently cutting his teeth as a player / coach at Quins. The strength of the 2’s is imperative to the development of the club and Fisilau is a major coop for our development.
Hancock assumes the role of Team Manager and is excited to work alongside Keni in developing the future of the club and the continued growth of the Academy:
