Oxford Harlequins looked to build on their home win last week with an away trip to Stratford. Quins took a side with three 1st team debutants in Jonny and Matt Henderson and Yann Sterckx. Quins started quickly with Antonio Turetta scoring his third try in three games. This was quickly followed with some brotherly love as Jonny broke down the left wing and played younger brother Matt in for Harlequins’ second.
With a two try lead, Quins were starting to settle into their patterns when Stratford were able to gather a loose ball and quickly counter breaking through for their first and only try of the match.
But the Quins came straight back, a grubber through from Martin Nutt was dotted down by Matt Henderson for the debutant’s second try of the game, and a try from Fotu Latu converted by Rory Garrett made it 24-7 to Quins at the break.
Quins kept the pressure on Stratford throughout the second half with a great defensive effort not allowing them to get any go forward. Fotu added a second try to his name and returning ‘Psycho’ Pete Alston finished off Quins 6 try performance.
Final score 34-7
